GRIMES COUNTY, Texas — Property owners and builders planning development in unincorporated areas of Grimes County may be required to obtain county permits before beginning construction or making significant changes to a property.

County development requirements can apply to residential and commercial construction, grading, excavation, drainage work, road access, floodplain compliance and other improvements.

New residential construction is also subject to county building-code requirements, while septic systems require a separate permitting and inspection process.

Property owners are encouraged to contact Grimes County Development Services before beginning a project to determine which permits, inspections or approvals may apply.

The permitting requirements are particularly important as residential, commercial and industrial development continues to expand across Grimes County.

TerraFab Texas will continue monitoring development, infrastructure and permitting changes affecting Grimes County residents and property owners.
